Raúl Zaldívar visits the Major Seminary of Medellín

As part of his field research, Dr. Zaldívar held an important meeting with Father Pablo Andrés Palacio Montoya, rector of the Major Seminary of Medellín. The meeting focused on analyzing the legacy of the Second General Conference of the Latin American Episcopate held in Medellín in 1968, a watershed event in the history of the Catholic Church. This conference proposed a Church committed to social justice, the defense of human rights, and the preferential option for the poor, tenets that inspired many Honduran priests to take a prophetic stance in the face of the inequalities of their time. This influence provoked a reaction from the economic and political powers of Honduras, leading to tragic events such as the Los Horcones massacre.

Professor Jenny Meza presents her book on feminist theology.

At Alef, our commitment is clear: to be an academic center that generates knowledge and enhances skills with a fundamental purpose: to educate the Church. As Ephesians 4:11 states, "I gave some as teachers... the mission of the teacher of the Church is to form, strengthen, and guard the truth." Today, with great pride, we announce the upcoming publication of the Alef School's first book, written by the distinguished professor of Latin American theology, Dr. Jenny Meza. In this prophetic work, Dr. Meza bravely denounces the abuse and oppression faced by women on our continent, inviting us to reflect and act from an illuminating and challenging perspective.
We will share all the details about its launch very soon. Don't miss it!
