Twenty-five years ago, the first edition of this work was published by CLIE. In it, the author defended the traditional positions of the evangelical world regarding the interpretation of the Bible. In this second edition, his approach is different and much more open.

As the author himself anticipates, there will be no shortage of those who, tearing their clothes, will accuse him of questioning the divine inspiration of the Word and thereby undermining the central pillar that sustains the entire framework of evangelical theology: the Bible as the only rule of faith.

As Dr. Samuel Pagán aptly points out in his prologue, works on this topic written from a Latin American perspective are scarce in the Spanish-speaking evangelical world; what little exists are translations from other languages. This work by Dr. Raúl Zaldívar is a clear demonstration that 21st-century Latin American evangelical leadership is not only aware of the urgent need to change many archaic paradigms in the face of the challenges posed by new generations, but also possesses the capacity to do so and is willing to do so with courage.
