Hondurans Tried in Courts of the United States of America

Honduras is a State devastated by the moral and political crisis, plunged into the collapse of public powers and turned into a metaphor of the perpetual Latin American drama. For several years we have been witness to a series of trials in the courts of the southern district of New York in which policemen, soldiers, congressmen and former state officials have been convicted of drug trafficking crimes. A special mention for the relevance of the convicted persons are the trials of Fabio Lobo, son of former President Porfirio Lobo, Fredy Renán Nájera Montoya, deputy to the National Congress, and Juan Antonio (Tony) Hernández Alvarado, brother of Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, current Honduran president.
